Giant East Midlands Ring 2008

They will leave Lichfield on the Trent & Mersey canal passing Burton and Derby, where at Shardlow they will enter the dangerous tidal River Trent for a mile or so.
A perilous turn into the River Soar will be made to head down through Kegworth, Loughborough to Leicester.
There joining the Grand Union (Leicester Line) they will continue onward to ascend the famous Foxton flight of locks.
Continuing to Watford ascending the dangerous staircase locks to hopefully reach Crick.
There they turn onto main Grand Union to traverse the Braunston Tunnel and afterwards turn towards Leamington Spa and Warwick to arrive at Kingswood Junction.
At the confusing and complicated Kingswood Junction they will attempt to get onto the Stratford Canal to head towards Kings Norton.
At this point they join the Worcester & Birmingham canal to head into Gas Street Basin at Birmingham.
Leaving Birmingham they travel down through the dark hidden locks beneath the central Birmingham buildings, turning on to the "unknown" Birmingham and Fazeley Canal to Fazeley Junction.
Here they join the Coventry Canal turning at Fradley Junction for the short distance back to Lichfield hopefully arriving around lunchtime on Tuesday.
