Thoralby, Stalling Busk, Semer Water, Bainbridge, Askrigg, Thorton Rust, Thoralby

Estimated distance 16-18 miles. Weather: Cold windy on the tops. Light rain all afternoon



Saturday 27th February 1999

"THE MYRTLE MEANDER"

Walkers: Ron, Colin, Alan E,

Bingley, Norr Hill, Egypt, Pineberry Inn, Ogden, Oxenhope, Haworth, Harden, Bingley

Distance 24 miles. Weather: Bright and windy (some hail!!)



Saturday 10th April 1999

Alan's J's walk postponed again! Therefore at short notice a repeat of Ron's Walk of 9th October

Starting at: Bawith House, via Stockbeck Moor, Carlsmoor, Dallow Gill, Dallow, Black Hill, Eavestone Lake, Grantley Arms (Lunch Stop), Belford back to Bawith House

Distance: 15Mls Weather: Windy, Sunny intervals, one short shower

Sunday Boston Spa Loop - Wetherby, Collingham, Clifford, Boston Spa, Thorp Arch, Wetherby

Estimated distance 14 miles. Weather: Overcast, but warm

"THE ST LEONARD'S WAY CHALLENGE WALK"

A charity walk in aid of St Leonard's Hospice, York

Walkers: Colin, Alan E, Jonathon & Andrew (Jonathon's friend)

Haworth, Lane Head, Mytholm, Slack, Blakedean, Top Withins & Haworth

Distance 20 miles. Weather: Warm & Sunny (2 short showers)



Bank Holiday Monday 31st May 1999

Walkers (Left to Right): Alan J, Neil, Alan E & Ron

Pateley Bridge along Gouthwaite Reservoir to Middlesmoor and Lofthouse back to Pateley Bridge

Distance 18 miles. Weather: Overcast, but Warm, sunny in the afternoon



Saturday 3rd July 1999

Alan J's walk east of Pickering

Circular walk from Pickering, Newbridge, Newton-on-Rawcliffe, Middleton back to Pickering

Walkers: Alan J (Leader), Ron, Neil & Alan E

Distance: Approx 14Mls Weather: Dull, light rain in morning, better in the afternoon. Very wet through the long grass and corn


Saturday 7th August 1999

Started at Langthwaite, North along Arkengarth Dale to Sleight Holme Farm, then

following Pennine Way to Tan Hill for lunch. Return to Langthwaite along road, as weather bad

Distance: Approx 20Mls Weather: Dull and low clowd in morning, steady rain after lunch



"THE 13TH SMUGGLERS TROD" - Saturday 28th August 1999

26 Miles around Robin Hoods Bay Completed successfully in 8hrs 36m

Walkers: Neil, Ron, Colin, Alan E, Alan J & Jonathon

Weather: Sunny and Hot all day

"THE CLEVELAND CLASSIC" - Saturday 25th September 1999

A 22mile organised circular walk from Nunthorpe Youth Centre

Walkers: Colin & Neil only

Weather: Threatening but rain held off all day


"THE NEWTONDALE TRAIL" - Saturday 30th October 1999

18 Miles from Pickering to Grosmont, via Goathland. A late Lunch stop at Beck Hole

Train back to Pickering

Weather: Damp with some low cloud, but rain held off until we were on the train

The "Birch Hall Inn" at Beck Hole and The North York Moors Railway



"THE ABERFORD AMBLE" - Wednesday 29th December 1999

12 Miles from Aberford, via "The Greyhound" at Saxton, "The Ash Tree" at Barkston Ash (Lunch Stop), the "Crooked Billet" and the lastly "The Sun".

14 walkers with guest appearances from Jim, Bernard, Dave Smith, Bazza and Brad (In a Suit)

Weather: Very cold and frozen ground, no rain and generally considered ideal.
